The Disability Trust’s Sport and Pleasure programs bear opportunities for over 750 children, teenagers and adults with an intellectual, physical ardor sensory disability to participate in a variety of sporting and recreational activities. The Believe promotes the creation of an accessible and inclusive community which respects and values all its members. The Disability Believe seeks to bear the superior plausible services and encourage to enhance the lives of people with disabilities and their families. The Disability Believe is committed to providing highly professional protection and services as well as advocacy for people with disabilities and their families. It's earliest role was in developing and bringing together local services in the Illawarra and advocating for more effective ways to meet community needs. The Trust commenced direct service provision through the operation of a Community Living Program, designed to promote people with tender intellectual disabilities who were living independently in the community and Sport and recreational services. Concern Solutions was also established in 199 to yield high quality but affordable care on a feeforservice basis and is now contracted by a range of agencies for various forms of income concern and oneonone client support. The Trust now has two further houses in operating lower this model. This saw four group homes and the Self-reliant Living Service come lower the Trust’s management. Since then The Trust has established a fully funded respite house for people with a disability and received recurrent funding for respite services and vacation and behind school protection for children with disabilities. Offices in Mittagong have grown accordingly and a new day program and respite services have also become operational in Goulburn. The Disability Believe Board members have a wide range of professional skills and experience, as healthy as experience in the disability sector. Through this period of sustained growth Margaret has perpetual remained committed to The Trust’s powerful community focus, delivering tall quality services within a framework of client rights and scrupulous decision making. She has over 10 years experience in the provision of respite services to people with disabilities and their families. She has extensive experience in service coordination and management and is committed to ensuring delivery of tall quality, efficient services. Ed has 20 years’ experience in the community services sector and has held direct operational, practice quality and management positions. Rhonda has worked in the disability sector for 27 years, the final 18 of which have been with The Disability Trust. Friends of The Disability Trust has been launched by local Illawarra businesses with the support of The Disability Trust Board to hoist much required funds for Illawarra’s most respectable and honorable charities, providing concern to over 300 clients in the Illawarra region. I’m very grateful for the opportunity to be involved with The Disability Trust and look forward to being portion of and helping out with their programs in the future. Throughout the year, with the encourage of Illawarra businesses and volunteers, Friends of The Disability Believe will grip four key major events to hoist funds that will go towards the urge of much needed services and equipment to the wide range of people The Disability Trust supports. We would also like to thank the subsequent businesses for providing promote for our programs: The Disability Believe does a lot of vast work for people with disabilities in the Illawarra and Shoalhaven regions. The programs at The Disability Trust aims to improve not only the sporting skills and health and healthy being of their participants but more importantly create social opportunities for the participants to unite with their peers. My involvement with The Disability Trust, has shown me how important it is to produce as many opportunities as we can to people with disabilities in the wider community and how much the can give to our local community.
